Your records are yours
Plain answers about what happens to your planting history, order book, and buyer list — and a button that hands all of it back to you right now.
Export everything, any time
Every bed, planting, harvest, journal entry, scan, frost report, sale, expense, buyer order, and stand listing you have logged comes back as plain CSV — one file per record type, openable in any spreadsheet. No paid plan required. Leaving with your records is not a feature we sell.

How to use these files
The export gives you plain CSV. Each file opens in Excel or Google Sheets, and most bookkeeping tools can import it directly. Pick your tool and follow the matching path:
- QuickBooks Online — Go to Settings → Import data. Import sales as Invoices, expenses as Bills, and the general journal as Journal entries. Map our category names to your own chart of accounts during import.
- Xero — Use Accounting → Import for sales and bills, or open the journal file under Accounting → Manual journals → Import. Swap in your account codes if the defaults do not match your chart of accounts.
- Wave — Open Accounting → Transactions and choose Upload a bank statement. The Wave-format file uses one transaction per row: money in is positive, money out is negative, and the category column maps to your chart of accounts.
- Plain spreadsheet — Open the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, or LibreOffice. The columns are labeled for a bookkeeper; sort by date, filter by category, or pivot by channel.
Harvestead is not connected to your accounting login, so nothing posts automatically. You review the file, run the import, and keep the final numbers in your own system.
If you cancel or drop to a free plan
Nothing is deleted. Your plantings, harvests, notes, photos, frost reports, and sales records stay exactly where they are. Paid plans unlock the historical views — season-to-season comparisons, 30-year frost drift, ledger history — so those screens lock, but the underlying records do not go anywhere. Re-subscribe a year later and your history is still there, gap-free.
What happens to your order book
Your buyer orders, order line items, buyer list, invoices, and stand listings are your business records, not ours. They are exported by the button above in the same shape your accountant expects, and they remain readable in Harvestead's Market HQ while your account exists — even on a free plan you can still export them. We do not resell, rent, or hand your buyer list to another grower or platform.
If Harvestead ever shuts down
We are a small operation and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever have to wind down, the commitment is: at least 90 days' written notice by email, exports left switched on for that entire window, and no records deleted before it ends. You would leave with the same CSVs you can download today.
